"Earl is a member of the New York Jets team that upset the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. He has the distinction of having caught the opening kickoff and returning it for 25 yards to begin the game. Super Bowl III is considered the greatest upset in Super Bowl history. He was a free agent, walk on player who was a defensive back, kickoff, and punt return specialist. After football, Earl became a sports broadcaster in Chicago with his own TV program. He is the inventor of Sports-a-cise, an exercise board game, a former gym teacher in the Chicago Public Schools, and a motivational and inspirational speaker. Earl was honored in Africa by being named a Chief of the villages of Nyagbo, Ghana, Africa. Throughout his lifetime, he has maintained a friendship with his quarterback, Joe Namath.
